Why schmidt broke up with cece

Which is why—though I didn't expect them to do it so quickly—I wasn't surprised to see New Girl smash Schmidt and Cece's relationship into smithereens last night. Apparently for them, the third time isn't the charm. This was the third time, right? The episode cleverly kicked off with Nick, Jess, Schmidt, and Cece planning a double date, when neither that one nor any others would ever happen, thanks to the way the rest of the episode unfolded.

They clearly felt they had to blow up the happily hooking-up apartment and not just to save the sanity of this poor guy:. By "guy," I of course mean Ferguson, who's got to be feeling extremely smothered by Winston right now. But this is a tradition we've seen enacted over and over again on our favorite shows.

The secondary couple has to get got. It's why Rachel and Joey, experimenting in the background of Monica and Chandler's newlywed bliss, never worked out on Friends OK, that never worked out for many reasons.

When a hottie does eventually turn up, Cece turns him away so that she can hang out with Schmidt. So they called it quits right then and there in the lingerie department. Hey, it happens. But it's like the saying goes… when one 'ship closes, another one opens.

With Schmidt now officially back on the market, it's only a matter of time before he and Cece reignite their long-awaited romance once more. But while Max Greenfield himself has hinted to me that a Schmidt and Cece reunion is in the works , I can't help but get slightly nervous about how all of this is going to work out.

Cece just announced her plans to climb a mountain as a way to help her get over Schmidt and find her inner self. Will she leave before hearing about the break up?
