Update: I let the phone run it's battery out overnight, then held down the home button, and plugged it into a another computer I have running iTunes The day before, I was trying to restore the phone on iTunes So, if your phone is still stuck, try the latest version of iTunes that you can get your hands on and plug in your phone holding down the home button.

I couldn't get into the DFU mode be it connected to iTunes or not. Does this mean that my iPhone is dead? Sometimes it takes a few tries to get it into DFU because you have to time it just right. It has to be plugged in with iTunes loaded before you put it into DFU. If you try putting it into recovery mode, does anything happen in iTunes? It could have had a hardware failure too, but based on the fact that it warms up on the charger we know that at least something is happening that you can't see on the screen.

That should say recovery mode or DFU. Sorry, I'm sick today and can't seem to keep a train of thought. I went to the Apple store recently and they said the battery could have gone so hot that the other parts are damaged by the heat.

Sadly, the phone is dead.
